Talked with Mike at Better Bikes this week and he said they got in a nice supply of Profile Design’s tri cloths (tanks, shorts, women’s suits, etc.) along with Adomos saddles.  He also just got a new Felt B16 (size 56) and an AR5.  If you are looking for a higher end bike, Mike is selling his personal B10 (size 51) if you are interested.  Better Bikes has a great supply of tri and road gear, so swing by and take a look at what they have.  Remember to bring you KTC membership card to enjoy our sponsorship discount on bikes, gear and mainatainence.

Injury Prevention, Nutrition, and FREE Massage!
With the racing season kicking off over the last two weekends (Kemah and Galveston) and with Ironman Texas less than 6 weeks away our training has begun significantly ramp up!
Unfortunately this increased training volume sometimes leads to injury.  Learn how to prevent this from happening to you from the month’s featured speaker:
Dr. Jay Muscat, an orthopedic surgeon and sports physician for the Humble/Kingwood based Fondren Orthopedic Group, LLP.

Dr. Muscat will lecture on how triathletes can take preventative measures to decrease the chance of sports related injuries and answer any questions you may have on the subject.

And then sticking with the theme of the evening, Leesa Shanahan from Kingwood Nutrition will be on hand to speak about Personal Wellness and proper nutrition for triathletes.

AND, Alton from The Healing Experience will be on hand with an associate offering FREE chair massages!!!

This is one night you do not want to miss!
As always please feel free to invite your Friends and Family to the KTC monthly socials.

It was a great weekend of racing in Galveston.  Many of our club members raced the Lonestar Sprint and the Ironman 70.3.  Congratulations to all of you who competed!  It was hot and windy (lots of sunburns), but it was a great first race of the season.  A special congrats to Annie Irvin who completed her first ever outdoor triathlon… and rocked it!  Any other club members have their first race this weekend?

We would love to hear your race report and upcoming plans, so take a few minutes and leave us a comment on this post about your race and/or your upcoming plans for racing.

This months social will be this Thursday, March 24th, from 6:30-8:30pm at Los Cucos in the front of Kingwood.

We moved the date because of Spring Break but next month it will be back o the 3rd Tuesday of the month.

If you have not signed up for KTC in 2011 yet this will be your LAST opportunity to do it outside of Active.com. Sign up at the meeting and recieve $5 off membership fee!

For the March Social our featured speaker will be the Crew from Tri On The Run Fitness Center. They will talk about all of the innovative ways they can help you accomplish your triathlon goals through group/personal coaching, swimming stroke analysis, running gait analysis, and nutritional recommendations. Should be a very informative evening!

Please come and support Tri on the Run Fitness Center as they are a new sponsor to the club!
